As some philosophers insist that all goodness arises from duty and obligation, in Mysticism we recognise it is sourced from our sameness. The Mystic, the one whose inner realm is orchestrated by the Sacred Whole, knows that the purpose of life is to serve others. All others. In serving others she serves herself, and in that she honours the Divine.
